The Pirates' No. 9 prospect took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a two-out RBI single as Indianapolis rallied to beat Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 4-2.

Closing in on 100 pitches, Wilson issued back-to-back walk to Kevin Russo and Corban Joseph with two outs in the sixth. Ronnier Mustelier followed with a single that Wilson said "squeaked through the middle" to break up the no-hitter and the shutout. Wilson bounced back and retired Jack Cust on a pop fly to third base.

"I just threw some close pitches just off the plate," Wilson said. "I was able to get through the inning and we were able to get the win. I still felt good out there, I just had bigger misses out there. Tony [Sanchez] did a great job behind the plate, and with the defense we have behind me it's pretty awesome to watch."

Overall, the 24-year-old left-hander walked three and struck out eight over six innings.

"My fastball was coming out good and I was able to throw strikes early and set up some off-speed later in the game," he said.

It was the second straight start in which Wilson gave up one run on one hit over six innings. On June 17, he retired the first nine batters of the game before Charlotte's Greg Golson led off the fourth with a double. Over his last three starts, he's allowed only two runs on six hits to lower his ERA to 3.46.

"I'm just being more aggressive and using my fastball to set up my other pitches and moving it in and out," Wilson said. "I'm trusting my stuff more than anything."

With the Indians trailing by a run in the eighth, Sanchez, Brian Friday and Chase d'Arnaud hit consecutive RBI singles. The win was Indianapolis' sixth straight.

"It's great. We've been playing good ball and it's nice to keep rolling," Wilson said. "We came through tonight with good defense and timely hitting."

Daniel Moskos (1-2) got the win, despite allowing a run on two hits in two frames. Tim Wood pitched a perfect ninth for his ninth save.

Like Wilson, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's Ramon Ortiz did not figure in the decision after fanning seven and allowing a run on five hits over seven innings.
